As we bask in the warm afterglow of the 16th annual Santa's Toy Run at Road Atlanta, our hearts overflow with gratitude for the incredible generosity, dedication, and hope that each one of you brought to this extraordinary event. Together, we have made a difference!
Your unwavering commitment has transformed Santa's Toy Run into a beacon of hope, radiating joy to countless children in need this Christmas season. Your kindness, irrespective of the size of the gift, has illuminated the lives of over 300+ children in Domestic Violence Shelters, Homeless Shelters, Group Foster Homes, and more. Many would have gone without had it not been for your efforts to support Santa’s Toy Run this year.
Together, we achieved something truly magical. The outpouring of support resulted in over $10,900 in contributions, $3,400 in gift cards, and a wealth of toys—surpassing the totals from the previous year. Our raffle sales made a huge difference in this year’s totals – special thanks to everyone who purchased tickets this year. In 2023, our combined efforts raised a little over $14,300, averaging $1,300 for each organization involved, along with $25 gift cards for every teenager 15 and up, and the moms in the domestic violence shelter with children. Our word of the year written on the Christmas cards given to the moms and teens with gift card this year is “Resilience” which is the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties.
The carefully chosen beneficiaries—A Friend’s House, Henry Haven House, Gateway Domestic Violence Center, Gwinnett & Fulton PADV, Peace Place, Salvation Army Red Shield Services, Hopewell Children’s Outreach Program, and VFW National Home—were selected through a meticulous grant process, ensuring that every contribution made is 100% tax-deductible and a trustworthy recipient.
Our deepest appreciation goes to Jim & Julie Pantas, directors of NASA-SE, for generously hosting this remarkable event for 16 consecutive years. We extend heartfelt thanks to all members, racers, crew, staff, fans, families, workers, security, and the countless volunteers who dedicated their time and resources to make Santa's Toy Run an overwhelming success.
Special recognition is extended to our Partners: The Issa Castro Law Firm, Shift Brokers Insurance, Buzz Bike, Schultz Fuel Cells, Big Dog Drilling & Auger, Web Tech, CK Tech Check, MSVE, American Street Rodders, GA Law Enforcement Organization, Kids Stuff USA, Clark Station Baptist Church, Tony Parella, Michael Printup, Tim & Sharon Yoder, and Brian & Becky with Muscle Car Therapy. We also express our sincere gratitude to my beautiful wife Michele, my step-daughter Kimberly, granddaughter Lilly, and all individuals who played a vital role in this year's success.
The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. Your collective compassion has indeed elevated our community, making it a force for positive change, inspiration and hope. Your kindness has made a profound difference, and we look forward to creating more magic together in the years to come.
As we close the chapter on Santa's Toy Run 2023, we eagerly anticipate the 17th annual event on December 7-8, 2024, at Road Atlanta. With your continued support, we are determined to break the STR track record and bring even more "Miles of Smiles" to children in need in 2024. Thank you for being the heart and soul of Santa's Toy Run. Who’s with me?

The 6th Annual Toy Drive was a success with donations at $15,260, gift cards at $1,040 and over 1400 toys collected. The main four contributors were Robertson Racing, Miller Family Foundation, NextGear Capital and most importantly, Jim and Julie with NASA-SE. We owe these contributors a great deal of thanks for their unwavering support of this great event to help children and the organizations that supports them. Interstate Poker Club helped out with the toy collection significantly by donating a full box of toys. I also wanted to mention Terrell Williams for his wonderful BBQ raising over $1000 and the hundreds of entrants attending the event.
We also want to recognize Design Packaging for their awesome boxes, Carl & Vickie Eckert, Tom Hennig, Denise Emerine, Royce Duncan, Summit Marketing Agency, Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Auto Parts International, Zone Pest Control, Dixie Promotions, Trebor Auto Sales, Dixie Promotions, Joe Bath, Tim & Ruth Yoder and my good friend Drew Ewing for your donations to our charities. Your combined donations help put us over the top this year, THANKS!!.
We were able to supply gift cards to 37 women in the domestic violence shelters, Gwinnett PADV and Haven House and 12 cards to older teenagers at A Friends House and Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. The funds were distributed to the following charities: Speedway Children’s Charities – Atlanta Chapter $3,500, Haven House $1,575, A Friend’s House $2,425, Sunrise Youth Group $2,150, Gwinnett Children’s Shelter $1,100, KidStuff $2,000, Gwinnett PADV (Kids Rec Program) $1860, VFW National Home For Children $650 plus numerous other organizations. The toys were divided up among these organizations based on their needs list. Several of them would not have had any or enough toys to fulfill their need if it were not for these donations.
Once again the NASA-SE Santa’s Toy Run at Road Atlanta was a huge success for charity collecting $15,800 and over 11,600 toys showing growth of over 400% since 2008. This season ending weekend (Nov.30 through Dec.2), with an endurance race on Friday, championship races on Saturday, and Santa’s Toy Run on Sunday is quite popular. Over 400 race teams and drivers (up 150% over 2008) participated in the racing and were responsible for event success.
The Directors of NASA-SE graciously agree to exchange “Tickets for Toys.” Everyone who attends the races and donates an unwrapped new toy or gift card with a value of $10 or more will receive an exclusive “All Access 3 Day Pass” to watch some of the best sports car racing in the southeast. Charities selected are 501c3 non-profit organizations meaning each gift is tax deductible. These donations, gift cards, and toys are distributed to qualified, well deserving kids, teens, and families in their true time of need. They are counting on NASA-SE for help each holiday season.
NASA-SE encourages racing Santa’s to fly their sleighs around Road Atlanta in early December. These sleighs have names like Mustang, Corvette, Viper, Honda, Miata, Thunder Roadster, Legends, BMW, and Mercedes. Santa’s Toy Run allows participants, crew, spectators, and officials to experience true Christmas spirit as they bring Christmas cheer to many children and their families. It is the result of the generosity of the drivers and other participants that make this event so successful. In addition to the toy admission, many sponsors provide “in kind” support and significant monetary donations. There are many sponsorship opportunities that include the excitement of ride-along in Race Car opportunities and other benefits.
The 2011 Santa’s Toy Run toy drive and fundraiser was again very successful collecting over 1500 toys that was distributed to more than 400 local children for Christmas. We also provided over 50 moms in battered women’s shelters with a gift card and toys for their kids. We received close to $8000 in donations for these organization devoted to helping children in crisis or need.
I want to personally thank all who participated in this years event. The kids and organizations are really appreciative and wanted me to convey their thanks for everything they received this year!
